Subtractive tooling leader, Production Services Management, Inc. (PSMI), forms wholly-owned subsidiary, Azoth, to provide an on-site additive manufacturing solution with RIZE and Dynamic Detroit
WOBURN, Mass., USA June 18, 2018 – RIZE Inc., a Boston, USA-based, next-generation additive manufacturing company, and PSMI, a world leader in providing metal removal solutions and engineering expertise for the world’s largest manufacturers, today announced a partnership to offer a new business model for providing an unprecedented additive manufacturing solution for the industrial manufacturing market.
Additive manufacturing is a disruptive force in manufacturing and transforming products and the supply chain. Tooling applications comprise many of the key application areas for additive manufacturing in this market. With the formation of Azoth, PSMI demonstrates their vision to drive a digital transformation for their customers in the area of prototype and MRO products. Together, PSMI and Azoth bring their industrial customers an unparalleled subtractive and additive manufacturing solution.
For the first time, Azoth, with support from RIZE, will create and operate the Additive Indirect Supplies Crib to provide manufacturers with custom prototype tooling, gaging, fixturing and more on site at dramatically reduced lead times and cost, increasing their customers’ competitive advantage. Cost reductions of 50X and lead time reductions of 30X are feasible using RIZE’s additive manufacturing technology vs. subtractive methods to produce products. RIZE Authorized Reseller, Dynamic Detroit, a leader in subtractive machine tools and AM technology serving the USA Midwest, will provide sales and services support to Azoth.
“PSMI offers services at more than 250 plants across multiple countries, including OEMs, like John Deere, General Motors and Eaton Corporation,” said Scott Burk, Co-President of PSMI. “We intend to have each and every one of those locations deliver innovative additive manufacturing products and services to our customers.”
“We are delighted to partner with a visionary company like Azoth to help drive a new business model based on RIZE’s APD additive manufacturing technology,” said Andy Kalambi, President and CEO of RIZE Inc. “RIZE is a future-proof technology in the fast-moving additive space. This partnership further demonstrates RIZE’s vision and leadership to enable Additive at Scale.”
“The opportunities enabled by the partnership of these global leaders in subtractive and additive manufacturing technologies is enormous,” said Vince Mileto, President of Dynamic Detroit. With our rich heritage of increasing our customers’ profitability, we look forward to bringing the significantly enhanced value this partnership and new business model offers to our customers.”
RIZE will demonstrate how RIZE ONE provides a one-touch user experience for Generative Design and Fabrication at DASSAULT SYSTÈMES' Additive Manufacturing Symposium today at the Marriott Copley Place, Boston, MA USA. PSMI and Azoth representatives will also be on hand to discuss this innovative new business model for delivering additive manufacturing services to manufacturers.
About PSMI / Azoth
PSMI was founded in 2005 with the sole objective of increasing operational effectiveness by reducing tooling and MRO spending through new technology.
PSMI understands that with the growth of automation, electric engines, IoT and more, the landscape of manufacturing is in a state of rapid flux. Factories will look very different in the upcoming decades than they have in the past. Anticipating these changes and their impact to current revenue streams requires investment in new technologies. As such, PSMI has chosen to supplement its expertise in metal removal with the adoption of additive manufacturing. Azoth will bring the additive manufacturing solution to its customers’ cribs, allowing them to adopt and think 3D without having to establish their own AM processes. Through Azoth, PSMI will continue to serve customers as their leading technology partner by transforming supply chains from an order-on-demand to a make-on-demand model.
