We decided to shake things up a bit for this month’s featured part. Instead of the mechanical and end-use parts we’ve featured thus far, this month’s part is an anatomical model, a right scapula (shoulder blade). This bone part is near and dear to me, since I fractured one of my own last year.
We downloaded the part from a popular 3D file download site. But the original file was generated from a CT scan. Although this large part took 8 hours to 3D print on our Rize™ One 3D printer, my colleague released the supports with his bare hands in less than a minute cleanly and safely and right at his desk.
