We are delighted and honored to announce that our Rize One 3D printer has been bestowed with the Silver Award in the category of Office Technology by the Edison Awards, the highest award achieved by any 3D printer nominated in this year’s award competition.
This distinction is an important achievement and reflection of the Rize team’s innovation and business success. According to Edison Award organizers, “Winners were chosen as ‘best of the best’ by the world’s top senior business executives, academics and innovation professions.”
Since 1987, the Edison Awards, an annual competition honoring excellence in new product and service development, marketing, human-centered design, and innovation, have honored the most innovative new products, services and business leaders in the world. Award winners represent "game changing" products and services, as well as excellence and leadership in innovation around four criteria: concept, value, delivery and impact:
Eugene Giller, Rize Founder and President, had developed other 3D printing technologies and saw its limitations. He invented the process from home, partnering with a former 3D printing colleague, Tom Davidson, a mechanical engineer, and an industry software pioneer to make his invention a reality. Co-founder, Leonid Raiz, joined and was instrumental in raising funding for the company. Iterative design, prototyping and testing were used at every highly collaborative step. We also polled industry experts to prioritize features. We emerged from stealth mode to raise additional funding, entered into beta to have customers test the printers and are now producing and shipping our Rize One 3D printer.
Today’s desktop 3D printers are hobby printers that only serve the prototyping market. Large, expensive ($100K+) 3D printers in labs away from engineers who need parts serve the mid-volume manufacturing market. They can’t efficiently produce one-offs. Only Rize One serves the vast, untapped market for efficiently producing one-offs of customized end-use parts anywhere, on demand, faster than any other 3D printing technology and at a fraction of the cost. It uniquely produces color, watertight, isotropic thermoplastic parts that are 2X stronger than other systems. Rize One is the only office-safe industrial-class desktop 3D printer. Customers say it pays for itself in a few months.
Rize uses direct sales and a channel. We communicate primarily through strategic social media, PR, email, industry events, speaking slots and our Website, the hub of our integrated program. Our value proposition is validated by customer testimonials, analyst reports, third-party testing and press articles that we heavily promote and leverage across various forms of content and vehicles. We also offer to 3D print free parts for prospects, journalists and analysts and invite them to our weekly BBQ lunch and demo.
If a 3D printer is going to be in the office, it must be safe. But the dirty secret of 3D printing is that they are not office safe, even desktop 3D printers. Rize offers the only entirely safe, Green process from file to usable part. Unlike other 3D printers, Rize One has no toxic emissions, fumes, noise, harmful materials or mess. The materials are bio-compatible and recyclable. This sets a new safety standard for 3D printers. And, for the first time, an industrial-grade 3D printer can make end-use parts in any environment, on the fly, unlocking the technology for new applications in new markets.
