Well, I’ll be a monkey’s uncle! We selected this 3D printed monkey skull as our June part of the month. We didn’t choose this part just so we could have fun with monkey idioms. Well, OK, maybe that factored into our decision just a bit.
This part ideally demonstrates how well Rize 3D printers produce complex, detailed geometry and how simple it is to remove supports from even the inner cavities of the part, thanks to our patented APD 3D printing process.
Equally important, the monkey skull represents Rize’s advantages for use in healthcare including clinical, educational and research applications. Not only does the near-zero-post-processing capability enable it to be in a standard office (rather than a specially-equipped lab), there are no toxic particle emissions, the material is biocompatible, completely safe and recyclable and it’s so easy to use, medical techs, clinicians, students and researchers can operate it without hesitation. Further, Rize’s unique ability to 3D print text and images onto parts, enables users to 3D print patient or project case numbers directly onto parts.
The monkey skull stats:
Software slicing time: 5 minutes
Printing time: 17 hours
Support release: under 5 minutes, with bare hands at a desk (no solvents, etc.)
Total part turnaround time: 17 hours
